Quarantine

The mighty world at a standstill-
Who would’ve thought!
With all of us inside,
Dead it seems-
On the outside.
Mankind who 'conquered' the world
Now cocooned within himself,
Pathetically, Desperately, Hopelessly
“Take a moment.
Stand back.
You’ve been running for too long;
Without any end nor beginning.
Take a moment, Look around.
Human, you’re not alone.”
God said.
And so they did.
Were they fooled by their own eyes?
Never before noticed-
Just didn’t have the time.
But now...
The Ivy veins trickling down dewdrops
The familiarity of the marching ants
The momentous chirp
Of the brown-clad sparrow
Come; Soothe us to sleep
Teach us to be happy
Yet be humble-
As it succeeds without any screens
Nor without any glowing lights
But with mere authenticity.
A sense of purity
With all of inside
And our minds so dull.
But that's okay,
For our hearts are still beating;
And that's all that matters.
